Non-residents have grievances in relation to the
security of their possessions and profitability
in their investments. Many Non-resident
Keralites keep the investments already made
almost as dead investments. The property
inherited or acquired, cannot put to optimum
use, due to an apprehension about restoration of
the property when, at the end of the day, the
non-resident returns home. Here, an imaginative
Legislative Action could possibly come to the
help of this class of non-resident Keralaites.
In the meanwhile, there could be individual
grievances like a neighbour attempting an
encroachment, or a trust agent not utilizing the
funds made available for the ear-marked purposes
and the land. In these areas, appropriate advice
could be given and legal action suggested. Help
could also be given to identify responsible and
competent counsel, after study of the nature of
the litigation, the location of the court
proceedings, and the complexity of the legal
issues involved. This is also being done, on the
basis of evaluation by a panel of Legal
Personnel with established reputation and
experience.
