Launching this web site is yet another milestone
in the forward march of 'Niyama Sameeksha' - a
body established about 6 years back to strive
for eradicating legal illiteracy, commonly
found,
even
in a state like Kerala which acclaim the status
of first literate State in India.
Rule of law is the lifeline of Democracy. State
endeavor to establish law and order for the
safety and security of its subjects. People's
awareness of their legal rights and duties is a
necessary concomitant to secure Law and Order.
Ignorance of law is no excuse. People themselves
have to keep their eternal vigil.
It is the Constitutional duty of a responsible
Government to educate the mass on laws governing
them, for ensuring its adherence by the people.
The State discharges this duty by notifying the
law in the official gazettes for the information
of the public - but seldom people take note of
such publications, for varied reasons -
including its limited circulation and
accessibility. This deficiency hits even those
who handle law daily in Court halls.
The relevance of a legal publication in
Vernacular language assumes importance in this
context. 'Niyama Sameeksha' during the past few
years, could fill this long felt gap at least in
Kerala and the warm reception showered by the
people has motivated us to plan for an ambitious
project to enter the national main stream with
legal literacy campaign nation wide.
We trust our readers, for it is they who feed us
strength and vigor to work in this dry field.
Your continued patronage will hopefully help us
to serve better in the years to come.
